Born into a world surrounded by music, Chance found his calling early on. His style, ranging from Gospel roots to Blues, Rock, R&B, Funk, and Soul, reflects the richness of his life experiences. He has recorded in Nashville and played with numerous bands across Northeast Louisiana, often earning respect as the only "white boy" in various local Black R&B groups. His electrifying performances with bands like Heavy Weather, The Chance Lain Band, and The Funky Biscuits leave audiences wanting more.

Despite profound tragedy throughout his life—including the loss of his first wife, Macey, and various family members—Chance has chosen music as his pathway to healing and rebuilding.

Reuniting with his son Joseph David, they have become partners in a family business dedicated to making music and performing shows. Together, they are breathing life into Backporch Productions, recording original material, and creating something meaningful from the ashes of hardship.

Now, they are working to build a fully equipped home studio, a space for recording music and producing artists. This studio represents a fresh start and a chance to turn pain into purpose. Let Us Bring Our Music to Your Event! Chance and Joseph are available for gigs and ready to make your event truly special. They will be in Northeast Louisiana and can perform on April 2nd or 4th. Chance Lain – A Life Rebuilt Through Music

Music has been the constant thread in Chance Lain’s life—a guiding force through hardship, loss, and redemption. Born into a world filled with music and raised by musicians, Chance found his calling early. Songwriting and performing have always been his true realm of existence. From Gospel roots to Blues, Rock, R&B, Funk, and Soul, his style is as diverse as his life experiences.

Chance built a reputation as a powerhouse vocalist with remarkable range and sustain, a masterful slide guitarist, and an all-around multi-instrumentalist. He has recorded in Nashville, played guitar for numerous bands across Northeast Louisiana, and was often the only "white boy" in several local, black R&B groups—earning deep respect for his authenticity and raw talent. Over the years, he fronted bands like Heavy Weather, The Chance Lain Band, and The Funky Biscuits, always leaving a lasting impression with his soulful sound and electrifying performances.

But beyond the music, Chance’s life has been marked by profound tragedy. His first wife, Macey, the mother of his sons Joseph David and Masen, passed away in 2011 from complications of multiple sclerosis. His biological mother died by suicide when he was young, his brother died in an automobile accident at the age of 17 due to a drunk driver, and both his adoptive parents later passed—his mother from cancer and his father from dementia and diabetes. His second wife also took her own life, leaving behind two children with Chance as well. These losses, combined with a decade lost to wrongful incarceration, nearly took everything from him.

Despite it all, Chance refused to let tragedy define him. Instead, he chose music as his way forward—a means to heal, reconnect, and rebuild. After years apart, he and his son Joseph David have reunited, not just as father and son but as partners in a family business dedicated to making music and playing shows. Together, they are bringing their passion to life through Backporch Productions, recording original material, performing live, and creating something lasting from the ashes of hardship.

Now, they are working to build a fully equipped home studio—a place where they can record music, produce artists, and officially open for business. This studio is not just a workspace; it’s a fresh start, a way to turn pain into purpose, and a chance to create something meaningful for the future.

Boiling Point Live, Bastrop, LA.

Get ready, Bastrop! On April 19th, from 7 to 9 p.m., I’ll be returning to my hometown for a performance at Boiling Point, located at 1930 N. Washington, Bastrop, LA. This event is my gift to you—it’s completely free and open to everyone.

Music has always been my way of connecting, healing, and celebrating life, and I want this night to be about more than just songs. I’ll be performing a wide range of music—from blues to classic and southern rock, groove and jam music, country, and so much more—because I want there to be something for everyone to enjoy.

This night is my way of giving back to the community that shaped me, to bring people together for an evening of connection, memories, and joy. It’s not just a performance; it’s a celebration of us, our roots, and the power of music to unite.

I can’t wait to share this night with you all at Boiling Point! Let’s make it a night we’ll never forget.

Thanks,

Chance Lain
